Activity Learning and Fun

My preschool follows the Mother Goose Time Program.  You can visit them online to learn more about the details of this curriculum! www.mothergoosetime.com

I have also implemented my own Exercise program for kids.  At this age we obtain fitness through play, such as kick ball, 4 square, working on balance, pretending to be jumping beans, dancing etc.  I also introduce simple and fun exercises such as wall push ups, jumping jacks, stretches, duck walk and jumping rope to just name a few.  The kids really enjoy working through obstacle courses and playing follow the leader.  It is a very casual program and it helps to introduce the importance of movement!  We usually do this right before our learning time to get the wiggles out!

The preschool programs includes all sorts of skills for Kindergarten readiness.  The curriculum covers self esteem, emotional and social development, gross and fine motor skills along with sensory experiences.  It also helps aids in practicing skills in listening and language.  The activities are developed with the belief that children learn best by "doing".  All activities are developmentally appropriate and hands on to achieve the goal of making learning an exciting experience.
