Today I did assessments and will be sending them home with you to review. The kids did good! I am happy with their progress! We have covered a majority of the items listed. One thing I haven't asked the kids is their first and last name. No one knows their last name....K. gave me the last name of his neighbors...so that is something they need to work on. Especially if they were to get lost or separated from us. W. gave me his middle name, is it safe to say he gets called by his first and middle name alot? If that's the case than R should know his loud and clear...ha ha ha!
We did another round of fun activities today and worked on balance. This was fun for them to do, we did the edge of the sandbox, balanced things on our head and tried to even balance balls in our hand! We are nearing the end of our cirriculum and so I ordered a new batch for November and December!
If you have any questions regarding their assessments, please feel free to ask! Have a great weekend all!
After the vacation I took and fall break we are now back in the swing of preschool! The kids are always begging to do school and that makes me so happy! We worked on our spanish word "amigo" this week meaning friend! The kids recognized that word from watching Dora and Diego! It is so neat to see things "click" in their little minds and their faces light up! We are reinforcing our scissor skills by practicing cutting our straight and squiggly lines. They also colored a picture for a "amigo" to take home. K. drew and colored a donut with sprinkles! We are still working with the letter Ii and Tt and finding things that start with those letters and learning their sounds. All of us are rocognizing circles now! That's all for now! Tomorrow is another fun filled preschool day and it's time for me to order the next cirriculum!
Just a reminder about our hayride. All of our spots are filled and we will be having a great time on Halloween. Costumes are optional for kids and parents but always are so much fun if we do dress up!
We have been working with sciccors for the passed few weeks and this is a skill that we all need to work on. I have sent home some "homework" in their folders today so that they can practice their cutting! They can color them after they are done! We will be doing some of these practice sheets in addition to our regular curriculum.
Today we worked on a bus puzzle together as a group! They also sang the "wheels on the bus" song as well as many other of the nursery rhyme songs! Practice having them pronounce "transportation" They all the get right number of syllables but the actual pronounciation is really funny! We did a maze on our worksheets to find the skateboard. I was surprised at the fact that most of us could do this without crossing the lines in the maze. We read the book "CRASH SMASH" On our collage paper we were to pick out things that are modes of transporation and than glue them to our collage sheet and talk about how many wheels our transportation had. We also sorted different modes of transportation into categories, such as, things we ride, different types of cars, different types of cars, and things that fly! I have hung this project on the bulletin board for all to see!
